Stuart Elson BA

Stuart is  a senior member of Chartis’ Advisory Board. He is also the President of Shisa Advisors, a consultancy focusing on Risk, Software, and Project Management. He has over 20 years financial technology experience, covering investment banking, asset management and risk technology.

Previously, Stuart was a Managing Director at Bear Stearns/JPMC responsible for on-boarding hedge funds, implementing risk systems and transforming operational efficiency for end-to end trade communication.

He has also been a Senior Vice-President at Salomon Smith Barney/Citigroup where he was the Manager for Risk Analytics for the Risk IT Department, managing a team of over 60 Analysts, Developers, and PhDs. He was also responsible for developing risk monitoring and analytics applications covering counterparty risk, risk ratings and reducing operational risk. He also led counterparty risk analytics reporting through two major mergers, for acceptance by the SEC, FRB, and FSA.

While at Citigroup, Stuart also had a focus on enterprise wide projects regarding Basel II, stress testing, and the enhancement of the measurement, implementation and use of economic capital.

Stuart has a BA in history from SUNY Buffalo, and is a member of multiple industry groups including PRMIA.
